It was recently reported that around 150.000 security cameras found in schools, hospitals, and businesses were hacked.

Indeed, hackers have claimed to have breached Verkada, the company that made the security camera, and many feeds from institutions and organizations were apparently hijacked.

Moreover, it was also stated that Tille Kottmann has claimed credit for hacking into Verkada’s systems so as to fight for freedom of information and against intellectual property. However, the attack was reported to be quite unsophisticated and Verkada has already disabled all internal administrator accounts to prevent further unauthorized access.

The company is currently investigating the breach and has alerted law enforcement. The impact of the attack wasn’t confirmed yet.
