Google Canada to provide free digital skills training to Indigenous learners in Canada

Google Canada has recently announced a grant dedicated to providing free digital skills training to Indigenous job seekers all across Canada.

Indeed, the $500,000 grant will be given to ComIT, which is a registered Canadian charity offering free training and professional development opportunities in IT, taught by experts in the industry. With this initiative, the charity will work with Google Canada to train 450 Indigenous learners in Canada through different programs.

Learners will have the opportunity to learn about HTML, CSS, and Javascript, as well as about the technologies needed in the labor market currently.

Moreover, Google Canada will also be giving $100,000 in funding to support Indspire, an Indigenous national charity in Canada. The funding will be used for education and job training programs.
