Healthcare cybersecurity market expected to grow by millions

The US healthcare cybersecurity market expected to grow by $12466 million by the end of 2025, Market Expert 24 reports. Included in the progression is a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16%.

Along with every field, the healthcare industry has also seen a rise in hacking and cyber attacks. As the healthcare industry implements more cybersecurity practices, such as patient data protection, the market is seeing a huge increase too.

Researchers analyzed data from the industry experts and cyber healthcare market contributors. They looked into dominant trends as well as macro and micro gauges and guidelines.

The study found that the top key players involved in the market growth to be Cisco Systems Inc., FireEye Inc., IBM Corporation, Kaspersky Lab, along with a number of other cybersecurity firms.

it was also reported that firms are ready to deal with the growth and demand of the market.

USA leading the way

The two sectors that are thought to benefit most from the boom will be hospitals and clinics.

North America, Europe, Asia- Pacific and LAMEA are predicted to see the highest CAGR in the period from 2019 to 2025. But it is the USA that is leading the cybersecurity solutions market in healthcare.

Healthcare organizations have also seen a rise in the education of cybersecurity, as well as an increase in end-user outlay.

Staff must know what they are doing

This all follows the news from a few weeks ago that reported that cybersecurity in healthcare is useless if staff do not follow the right protocols.

Writing for MedCity News, reporter Safi Oranski says: “Staff training needs to cover general cybersecurity protection such as the basics of password management, not clicking on suspicious emails, restricting browser use on nurse’s stations and other clinical assets, adhering to BYOD policies, enforcing physical access controls, resisting social engineering ploys, etcetera.”
