Microsoft says ‘superfast quantum computers are needed’

The head of Microsoft recently revealed at the World Economic Forum in Davos that the world is “rapidly running out of computing capacity”.

Satya Nadella said: “Superfast quantum computers are needed to solve some of the most difficult problems”.

Quantum computers use the power of atoms to perform memory and process tasks, making it faster than average computers.

Quantum computing is needed “to create all of these rich experiences we talk about, all of this artificial intelligence”, added the Microsoft boss.

He also noted that artificial intelligence (AI) could play a role in joblessness, despite his company increasingly focusing on intelligence displayed by machines.
