Adactus Pizza Hut project a finalist in The European Software Testing Awards

Adactus are thrilled to reach the final of the European Software Testing Awards 2015 for the Best Overall Project – Retail Sector in relation to its work with Pizza Hut.

Since 2007 Adactus have been the chosen partner for the online Pizza Hut delivery website. Initially an online ordering solution, written in ASP.NET Forms, it was created when there were just 14 delivery huts participating. Following its immediate success, it was ramped up and now provides an online ordering service for over 650 stores across the UK.

At the end of 2014 the digital market for Pizza Hut has seen a huge increase. At peak times the site is robust enough to handle >100 orders/minute and on Valentine’s Day 2015 it took a very romantic average of 7,000 orders per hour! On a typical week the solution will take around 100,000 online orders.

During this project the key priority was to improve customer communication and mutual understanding, ensuring transparency throughout. To help achieve the set goals Adactus proposed to the customer that it would work collaboratively on the project using an agile process which would allow us to demonstrate our progress at the end of each sprint. This in turn reduced the likelihood of any mismanagement or misunderstanding during development.
