Businesses with mature software delivery practices more likely to grow

A recent study by Forrester Consulting for CloudBees revealed that businesses that have mature software delivery practices are more likely to experience growth.

Indeed, it was reported that organizations with a high level of software delivery maturity are three times more likely to grow at 15% or more annually. On the other hand, companies that do not modernize their software delivery processes tend to have slow DevOps transformations and be more vulnerable to security risks.

The study shows that businesses that use delivery automation capability and efficient collaboration practices have more successful digital transformations and reach business expectations. It was then highlighted that software delivery maturity means better market share, innovation, and user adoption, and loyalty.

Moreover, the study stated that companies with high levels of software delivery maturity have successful DevOps transformations, grow revenue faster, and can adapt better to changing market conditions.

However, it was reported that there is still a lot of improvements to go through. Businesses are not practicing full continuous deployment with automation and many governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) capabilities for software delivery are still not mature enough.
