It was recently announced that the US Department of Commerce will be setting up a new National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee.

Indeed, the AI Committee will feature a panel of experts and leaders in the field that will be working together and advise the government on everything that has to do with AI so as to remain competitive and relevant. AI will be the way to strengthen the US technological competitiveness and drive growth in every sector of the economy.

However, it was reported that there is a need to be thoughtful and careful in how to address the challenges that come with these new technologies as well as making sure to advance equity and racial justice. Hence, the committee will help the federal government to do that by providing insights into the various issues raised by AI.
