Warehouse automation market to increase in the next five years

A recent study by Interact Analysis revealed that the global warehouse automation market will increase significantly over the next five years.

Indeed, it was reported that mixed automation, such as automated storage and retrieval systems, conveyors, and conveyor-based sorters will remain the most common form of automation for the future. Warehouses will also start to adopt more flexible mobile automation solutions.

The study found out that there will be a period of stabilization of the warehouse automation market between 2021 and 2022 in order to re-equilibrate and catch up on the backlog of orders. It is expected that by 2022, the market will have returned to normal and will experience an accelerated rate of growth.

Moreover, it was also reported that Asia-Pacific (APAC) will remain the largest market share for warehouse automation with a market size of US$11bn in 2020.

It is predicted that the general merchandise segment will grow at a faster rate than the overall market, with revenues hitting US$20bn and accounting for 28% of the market by 2025.
