De&I Tech Project to work on increase the diversity in Canada’s IT sector

The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I) Tech Project by TAP Network is working on increasing the diversity within Canada’s IT sector.

Indeed, the program aims to attract and retain more diverse groups to the tech industry in order to bridge the gender gap in Canada. It is then committed to supporting employers with the knowledge and tools need to create more equitable and inclusive workplaces.

TAP Network has identified significant gaps in representation, especially for Indigenous peoples and people with disabilities, and thus, it is working to have more continued training and programs to close these gaps. The resources are available online so as to support companies in recruiting diverse teams.

The DE&I Tech Project wants to continue to increase the sector’s capability to develop diverse and inclusive workplaces and hopes that more organizations will follow their lead and build their own diversity, equity, and inclusion journeys in Canada.
