Tesla has revealed that its cloud computing platform has been hacked.
Redlock, the firm that found the breach, said the attack took place to mine cryptocurrency (crypto-jacking).
Tesla said it addressed the hack in a matter of hours, and that no data had been stolen.
A Tesla spokeswoman commented: “Our initial investigation found no indication that customer privacy or vehicle safety or security was compromised in any way”.
Despite this, Redlock noted that Tesla’s log-in credentials are on a system that isn’t password-protected.
