Høglund to provide automation and control systems for newbuilds

The Norway-based company Høglund has recently approved contracts with Jiangnan shipyard and Babcock to deliver integrated automation and control systems (IACS) as well as gas handling for two Tianjin Southwest Maritime-owned ethane carriers newbuilds.

These contracts follow an earlier project that was due to deliver an IACS and gas handling for two Pacific Gas-owned VLEC newbuilds in August 2020.

Hence, they comply with the provisions required for fully integrated automation, power management system (PMS), and gas handling. Besides, the contracts also provide a ship performance monitor in order to access the systems’ data.

The firms stated that they will continue to work together so as to ensure improved dependability, productivity, and simplified lifetime maintenance of the vessels.
