Rapid7 named leader for Security Information and Event Management

Tech industry-leading research provider Gartner News has revealed that security analytics and automation company Rapid7 has been named the leader of its 2020 Magic Quadrant report for Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).

Gartner’s Magic Quadrant reports offer a framework for evaluating technology vendors in a given space. In the case of the Magic Quadrant for SIEM, technology providers were measured on two axis: completeness of vision and ability to execute.

Rapid7 provides help to detect and respond to potential attacks that have become increasingly complex as organizations shift to the cloud.

However, as attack surfaces expand, resources and talent remain scarce. Traditional SIEMs have not evolved to reduce this rising complexity or increase the effectiveness of security teams.

Richard Perkett, Senior Vice President, Detection and Response practice at Rapid7 responded to the recent win by stating: “InsightIDR and Rapid7’s corresponding managed detection and response offering are built to reduce complexity and accelerate detection and response in modern environments, helping teams achieve the efficiency and effectiveness required to manage security risk.”

He continues: “We believe our position as a Leader in this year’s Gartner Magic Quadrant is a testament to the value and return on investment our customers immediately realize.”
