Rewards for an 18-year working relationship

IT end users in the insurance industry could receive a more streamlined and efficient service.

A shift in strategy could see up to 1500 IT end users in the insurance industry receive a more streamlined and efficient service, thanks to a radical change in an 18-year old relationship.

SSP was the first client won by owner John Shaw when JilRose Ltd was established in 1997. JilRose is an IT solutions partner that delivers bespoke hardware services allowing software companies and their clients to operate at maximum performance.

Up until this month, SSP had always serviced the local IT requirements of the clients directly, whilst outsourcing the actual procurement, configuration, installation and maintenance services to JilRose.

But in a new deal, SSP will be referring and introducing JilRose to deal directly with its clients, ensuring a faster service, which is more cost effective and offers a more personal relationship for the future.

Based in Southport and Tamworth, JilRose has clients and engineers across the whole of the UK. The company currently has a turnover of £1.5 million, which will increase thanks to the new operating format to £2 million this financial year-end.

The transition for existing clients will be smooth, thanks to the fact that after 27 years service with SSP, Adam Robinson has now joined JilRose as an integral part of the management team. Adam explains further:

“JilRose has provided core IT services to SSP and its clients for 18 years, always operating as a single team under the SSP umbrella. We’ll now be operating on a direct basis as a trusted partner under our own steam. This will improve the experience for the end-user, as the turnaround time will be reduced through the implementation of an efficient and cost effective process.

“I have joined the team at JilRose to help push the business forward – it is an outstanding service provider, and there is great opportunity to add complementary services to the portfolio that will provide real value to our current and future clients. I am excited about developing the service proposition, and working with both existing and new clients in the software industry that demand a more collaborative approach to technology solutions.”

SSP is a global provider of technology systems and solutions across the general insurance industry. The company provides core technology solutions, distribution and trading capability, advanced analytics and solution delivery to eight of the top 10 UK insurers, four of the top 10 global insurers and over 40% of UK Brokers. SSP’s broking technology processes transactions worth over £5 billion gross written premiums and over 1.1 billion internet insurance quotes annually.

Laurence Walker, Chief Executive Officer of SSP said: “SSP has had a long standing and successful relationship with JilRose, they have always been a trusted partner.

“It therefore makes sense for SSP and JilRose as well as our clients that there is a more streamlined operation, allowing growth and giving buyers the opportunity to receive more benefits direct from JilRose. We are looking forward to making many successful referrals and strengthening working relationships.”
