Smartphones’ impact on digital shopping

New studies show that 86% of UK shoppers use their smartphones as a key sales channel.

Studies came out by Actinic, ecommerce solutions, between November and December 2016, which contained data from 21000 European companies.

The results showed that with the mobile spending trend increasing three times more than 2015, over 54% of consumers have seen over 10% of overall sales taking place through mobile channels, and Offices for National Statistics’ figures showed that ecommerce accounted for 15.5% of the total UK retail spending in March 2017.

Online stores are beginning to understand the importance of digital technology, with 76% of companies now supplying a mobile site.

The study also found that the majority of digital consumers are between the ages of 18-25.
