US officials’ iPhones to be compromised by NSO Group spyware

It was recently reported that the Apple iPhones from at least nine US State Department officials were compromised by an unidentified entity using NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware.

Indeed, it was found out that the NSO Group has immediately blocked access to its system after receiving the inquiry about the incident. However, there is no news about whether the software was involved.

The Group said it would cooperate with any relevant government authority and communicate information about the incident. It also declared that its software is only used for use against groups that have few allies such as terrorists, criminals, and paedophiles, yet many human rights groups have contradicted this assertion.
