A new software is helping the Bartlesville Police Department report crime

The city of Bartlesville in Oklahoma is using a new software system that is helping its Police Department to report crime statistics to the state quicker and more accurately.

The Bartlesville Police Department recently started to use Tyler New World Public Safety, which improves situational awareness and enhances safety and productivity. Indeed, the officers have noticed that they were able to use the technology more correctly and efficiently. This new software is also making it easier for the department in general.

The Department had to adapt its technology following requirements from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation asking more details about each crime included in monthly reports.

The previous system made it difficult and long to get the information to the state while the new software can automatically gather the data and send reports every two weeks, with less work done by department personnel.

Besides, this change helped officers be more efficient in the field as they are able to use only one system to gather information about a call and file reports. The software provides more clarity and security on what to expect on a call. The new system also enables BPD to automatically create maps of specific criminal activities in the city, instead of having officers manually compile them.
