BBVA to launch program that support Black tech-led startups in Canada

It was recently reported that Black Business Ventures Association (BBVA) is set to launch the Black Seed Accelerator Program in order to support Black tech-led startups in Canadian Prairies.

Indeed, this 12-week program will start at the beginning of November and will give Black tech startups access to online curriculum, community coaching, and funding to launch their ideas. Businesses can apply until October 22nd and there is no cost to apply once applicants qualify.

This aims to give back-led startups to make it in the industry as for now, black leaders only represent 2.6% of the tech workforce in Canada. By doing so, the organization hopes to bridge the gap between the Black community and the Canadian technology ecosystem. It wants to establish 1000 successful Black-led tech and tech-enabled businesses in Canada by 2030.
