Canadian wireless company targeted by cyberattack

It was recently announced that the Canadian Internet of Things (IoT) provider Sierra Wireless was the latest target of a ransomware attack last week.

Indeed, the company declared that it stopped production at its manufacturing sites as well as halted some internal operations and put its website offline. It was reported that the attack was limited to its systems and that there is still a clear separation between internal IT systems and customer-facing products and services.

Once the attack was found out, the cybersecurity procedures and policies were put into place in order to protect the systems and servers. Besides, the cyberattack happened as the company was in search of a new leader.

The company stated that it should restart production and normal operation soon in order to have time to remediate the situation.
