NASA to be developing a new software to prevent threats from asteroids

It was recently reported that NASA is developing an algorithm to prevent threats by near-Earth asteroids (NEAs).

Indeed, the new system, named Sentry-II, will be able to rapidly assess potential impacts for all known NEAs. It is an upgrade to the original Sentry, which had shortcomings.

The new software should have a different approach that is able to evaluate all the possible orbits within the entire area and assess low probability impact scenarios.
