US, European and UK Politicians are calling on Facebook to find out how its data on millions of its users is gathered and protected.

The European, UK and USA Parliament are said to be investigating the social media channel to find out if data is being misused.

US senators have asked Facebook creator, Mark Zuckerberg, to testify how the social media company protects its users.

The UK Prime Minster’s spokesman commented to the BBC: “It is essential that people can have confidence that their personal data will be protected and used in an appropriate way.”

Facebook has not yet commented on the growing calls from Politicians to explain its actions.
